Clear + Brilliant is a gentle fractional laser from the same family as Fraxel. It improves tone, texture, pores and early sun damage with a day of pinkness rather than a week of downtime, in a course of sessions that fits around a normal schedule. At Rejuvenation Dermatology Calgary South, Dr. Paul Kuzel, a board-certified dermatologist, assesses every patient and sets every treatment.
Like Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant treats a grid of microscopic columns and leaves the skin between them untouched. It uses lower energy and shallower depth, so the skin recovers in a day and the result builds across a course.
The two lasers do the same thing at different strengths. The trade is result per session against downtime per session.
A day of pinkness. Four to six sessions. For early sun damage, texture and pores, maintenance, and patients who cannot take downtime. Safe across skin types with adjusted settings.
Three to five days of redness and bronzing. One to five sessions. For established sun damage, acne scars, deeper lines and actinic keratoses.
FraxelClear + Brilliant improves the skin from the surface down; Skinvive hydrates it from within. The two are offered together as a package for overall skin quality.
Total Radiance packageA single dark spot is better treated with a pigment laser and redness with a vascular laser. Dr. Kuzel chooses the tool for the finding.
VBeamClear + Brilliant is gentle, which makes it easy to offer to everyone. The value of a dermatologist is knowing when it is the right tool and when it is not.
Clear + Brilliant is used on the face, neck, chest and hands. Because downtime is short, it suits areas that are hard to hide.
Rough or uneven texture and enlarged pores refine over a course. The most common reason patients choose it.
Early fine lines around the eyes and mouth soften. Established wrinkles need Fraxel, CO2 or a neuromodulator.
Fine lines and wrinklesBlotchy tone and light sun spots on the face, chest and hands clear over a course. Heavier sun damage favours Fraxel.
Sun damageLow-energy Permea treatment is used in selected melasma patients alongside prescription treatment. Never the first step.
MelasmaPatients in their twenties and thirties use it before events and as prevention. The change is in how the skin reflects light.
Every three to four months after a Fraxel or CO2 result, to hold the gain without repeating the recovery.
A Clear + Brilliant session takes about an hour including numbing. The first session usually follows consultation at the same visit.
Clear + Brilliant is designed for minimal downtime. The skin looks flushed for a day and feels like fine sandpaper for a few days as the treated columns shed.
No referral is needed. Clear + Brilliant is priced per session and as a course and quoted at consultation. The price is confirmed before treatment.

The skin looks brighter within a week of each session as the treated columns shed and new skin surfaces. Texture, pores and tone improve progressively across the course, and the collagen response continues for two to three months after the last session.
Clear + Brilliant is a subtle treatment by design. After a course most patients describe skin that looks healthier, smoother and more even rather than transformed. The result is maintained with a session every three to four months and with sun protection.
It does not remove established wrinkles, deep sun damage or acne scars, and it does not treat redness. Fraxel, CO2, neuromodulators and vascular laser do those where needed.

Four to six, four weeks apart, then a session every three to four months to maintain. Patients using it for maintenance after Fraxel or CO2 may need only the maintenance schedule.
About a day of pinkness, then a few days of fine, rough texture as the treated skin sheds. Most patients return to work the next day and wear makeup from the next morning.
With topical anaesthetic most patients describe warmth and prickling. The skin feels sunburnt for an hour or two afterward.
Clear + Brilliant is lighter: a day of recovery, more sessions, a subtler result. Fraxel is stronger: a few days of downtime, fewer sessions, a larger result. Dr. Kuzel recommends by the degree of damage and the downtime you can take.
It is one of the safer lasers for darker skin because of its low energy, and settings are adjusted further to skin type. The Permea handpiece is used with care in patients prone to pigmentation.
Original works slightly deeper for texture, pores and fine lines. Permea works nearer the surface for pigment and tone, and opens the skin to topical products for a day afterward. Dr. Kuzel chooses one or alternates them across the course.
Yes. It is commonly paired with Skinvive, with skin boosters, with PRP or exosomes applied afterward, and with neuromodulators for expression lines. It is offered with Skinvive as a package.
Brighter skin within a week of the first session; texture, pores and tone improve across the course and for two to three months after the last session.
