Boey is the first short-duration neurotoxin approved in Canada. It softens the frown line between the brows within a day or two and wears off on its own in two to three weeks, so you can see a result on your own face before deciding whether a longer-lasting treatment is for you. At Rejuvenation Dermatology Calgary South, Dr. Paul Kuzel, a board-certified dermatologist, assesses the face and performs every injection himself.
Boey (trenibotulinumtoxinE) is made by Allergan Aesthetics, the company behind Botox. Health Canada authorized it in June 2026 for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults, and Canada was the first country to approve it.
Most people who ask about Botox have been thinking about it for years. The hesitation is rarely the needle. It is the idea of committing to a result they have never seen for three or four months. Boey removes that problem.
See how a softened frown line looks in your own mirror, in your own photos, for a few weeks. Then decide about Botox from experience rather than from someone else's before and after.
The most common reason people never book. A treated frown line still moves; Boey lets you confirm that at low stakes, because if you disagree, it is gone in three weeks.
Timed so the result is in place for the event and fades afterward. No decision about ongoing treatment required.
Boey is approved for the frown line only. Forehead lines, crow's feet, jaw slimming, migraine and sweating remain Botox and Dysport territory, and Dr. Kuzel will say so at consultation.
All injectablesBoth are injected by Dr. Kuzel, both treat the frown line, and both come from the same manufacturer. The honest difference is how long you want to live with the result.
Units of Boey are not interchangeable with units of Botox or any other toxin. Dosing is set by Dr. Kuzel at consultation.
Boey is a first-visit treatment. Consultation and injection usually happen at the same appointment.
Boey was studied in two placebo-controlled Phase 3 trials with 947 patients. Side effects were uncommon and mostly minor, but it is a prescription neurotoxin and is treated as one.
Boey is arriving at Canadian clinics through late 2026 and supply is limited at first. Pricing for Calgary South is confirmed before launch, and people on the waitlist hear first. No referral is needed.

Health Canada authorized it in June 2026 and Allergan is rolling it out clinic by clinic. Rejuvenation Dermatology Calgary South is taking a waitlist, and waitlist members are offered the first appointments when stock arrives.
Some trial patients saw a change at 8 hours. Most reached the responder threshold by day seven. Expect the result to build over the first few days rather than appear all at once.
About two to three weeks. In the trials the frown line was back to baseline between day 14 and day 21. That is by design: Boey is a preview, not a maintenance treatment.
Because you have never seen the result on your own face. Boey lets you live with a softened frown line for a few weeks and then decide about Botox from experience. If you do not like it, it is gone.
Yes. Botox Cosmetic is the only neuromodulator clinically studied for use after Boey. If you like the preview, Dr. Kuzel plans the transition at your review.
No. It is approved for the frown line between the brows only. Other areas, and medical uses such as migraine and sweating, are treated with Botox or Dysport.
A brief pinch at each point with a very fine needle. Numbing cream is available if you prefer, though most patients do not use it.
Pricing is confirmed before launch and shared with the waitlist first. Call (587) 293-2024 for the latest.
