Few cosmetic dermatology procedures offer as significant an impact as dermal fillers. In under an hour and with minimal discomfort, you can achieve results that make you look forward to passing a mirror.
Dermal fillers are made from an innovative hyaluronic acid compound. They’re used to restore volume, structure and hydration to your face, counteracting the facial lines, folds and volume loss that can occur with age.
By replenishing lost volume and smoothing wrinkles, dermal fillers can create a more symmetrical, rejuvenated and youthful appearance. The potential of these treatments to enhance is remarkable.
But a dermal filler is only as good as its application. Understanding our complex facial anatomy and the quality of the dermal filler being used is critical for safe effective results. Equally important is expert technique and an eye for a natural, balanced aesthetic.
Dr. Kuzel is skilled in the safe, precise, natural application of filler injections for a result that is fresh, radiant and tasteful.
Once you and Dr. Kuzel have discussed your personalized treatment plan for dermal filler – including the filler product and the treatment areas, your procedure can begin. Dr. Kuzel or his nurse will cleanse the treatment area to remove makeup and apply a bit of numbing cream if required. Dr. Kuzel will remove the cream and begin injecting the targeted area, precisely controlling the amount of filler and the depth of injection to achieve the desired result.
Dermal fillers pose few risks or side effects. However, the most common side effects include minor bruising, swelling, and a bit of tenderness around the injected site. These usually resolve within the first 24 to 48 hours.
Within a few days of your appointment, we’ll check in to see how you’re doing. If this is your first treatment, Dr. Kuzel or his team will set a follow-up to assess your results. You can always call or email us too!
Results from dermal fillers can last anywhere from 18 to 36 months, depending on the type of filler used and the individual's metabolism. Regular touch-up treatments may be recommended to maintain the desired results.
Before your visit, you should stop taking all NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications) such as aspirin, as well as herbal supplements and alcohol one day prior. Always discuss any history of allergies and current medications you are taking with your treatment provider.
